Wireless Network Lead Technician

Working as part of a team, the functions and responsibilities will include:

• Surveying, designing, installing and configuring wireless network hardware and software at customer sites
• Handling support queries from customers (and our staff) pertaining to wireless network issues
• Progress reporting – providing weekly and monthly documentation and reporting of activities related to project deliverables to both customers and senior management.
• Ability to execute directives and communicate progress of each project to inform sales staff as to the status of project goals and completion
• While direct experience in the above areas is essential, a keen attitude, flexibility, professional communication skills and a real desire to work in the wireless business are also key factors. Knowledge of Motorola Canopy, Bridgewave, Dragonwave, Lightpointe, HP Procurve, Proxim, CSI, In-building BDA and Cisco is a plus.
• Position will require moderate construction style work that includes climbing ladders, assisting your construction team member with running network cables, terminating miscellaneous cables, reading technical documents, operating tools and machinery. Applicant must also be flexible to work hours as projects need to be completed in a timely manner and according to customer availability.
• Applicant will be responsible to install and support WLAN and WWAN equipment including licensed and unlicensed point-to-point and multipoint wireless networks.
• Ensuring installation projects and deployments are accomplished within the prescribed time
   

This position requires a candidate that is detail and results oriented with a good balance of passion for technology, solid problem solving skills and eagerness to accept ownership and accountability. Expected areas of expertise include:

• Experience with wireless networking topologies
  • Licensed and unlicensed
  • Point-to-point and multipoint
• Knowledge of advanced wireless and RF principles
• Hands on technical wireless installation experience for WWAN and WLAN
• At least 3-5 years direct wireless experience
• Must possess strong Ethernet skills
• Experience with Switches and Routers a plus.
• Multilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and high attention to detail.
• Hands on technical outdoor wireless installation experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communications both verbal and written
• Understanding of general construction principals both on the ground and on a tower.
• Self directed, self starter willing to take initiative.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Must possess a valid CA driver's license with good driving record.
• Team player with a constructive perspective, committed to the success of the group
• Travel is moderate to extensive to both Northern and Southern California
